Luxe Dermatology and Aesthetic Center

I did something I’ve never done before– I got a facial. I know, I know, who even am I? It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but #momlife and I’ve just never had the time. Lucky for me, Luxe Dermatology and Aesthetic Center opened a new premier location in Tysons Corner and invited some friends and me for a Galentines celebration. It was perfect timing too, cause this mama needed some pampering!!!

Dr. Moore, the clinical director and certified dermatologist at Luxe Dermatology, hit the jackpot with her staff. They are so sweet, answered all of our questions and met our every need– seriously, they even happily put up with our videos and thousands of photographs.

Once we met all of the staff and had some much needed girl time, it was time for some pampering. I had a custom facial with dermaplaning and a chemical peel scheduled. I had no idea what to expect but my aesthetician, Shawna, was amazing. She talked through my current skincare routine with me and gave me some suggestions to help keep my skin clear and radiant.

We started by cleaning my face, taking off all of my makeup and giving her a clean surface to start. Next she exfoliated my face before dermaplaning my face.

Never heard of dermaplaning? Its essentially an extra step of exfoliation by using a blade. Not only does it eliminate any excess dead skin, it makes your skin ridiculously soft by shaving off your peach fuzz.

Next in the process is the glycolic acid chemical peel. She put it on my face and let it fit for a few minutes before neutralizing and removing it. It didn’t hurt at all, I just felt a slight burning sensation.

Once the chemical peel came off, she put on a growth factor serum to help with the regrowth of healthy new skin and a defense serum to help repair and prevent from future damage. Last but not least was a cooling hydrating cream to send me on my way.

When I was finished the other girls came into my room and, I kid you not, they all thought I’d put my makeup back on. My skin was glowing; it felt crazy clean and so soft.

So what are the benefits to a chemical peel? It exfoliates dead skin cells leaving your skin super soft, evens your skin tone and minimizes the appearance of fine lines.

I had the best afternoon and even scheduled my next appointment for the end of the month. Next time, I’m getting a hydra-facial and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve heard amazing things– my girls Trish and Lisa both got a hydra-facial done at Luxe Dermatology and said it was a MUST HAVE service. And, spoiler alert, I plan to schedule the famous vampire facial in the next few months. EEK!
