I have a confession to make…I’ve never been inside a Lush store. I know, I know, who even am I? But it’s true. I’ve walked by it countless times, heard about how amazing their products are from friends, and even have a running wish list but I’ve never walked in. A few weeks before Christmas I got a text from my mom, “I’m at Lush, do you want anything?” I’m not going to lie, my heart skipped a beat. I was only one wash away from being out of my Shimmer Lights purple shampoo and had countless people recommend Lush’s Daddy-O purple shampoo so that’s exactly what I told her. Christmas day came and I wasn’t at all surprised when there was a Lush bag sitting under the tree with my name on it. Inside sat the Daddy-O shampoo I’d asked for and the conditioner bar. As you know, my hair only gets washed once every 2 weeks so it was a little while before I pulled those bad boys out and gave them a try.
Usually once I’ve hit that 2 week mark, my hair takes a lot of shampoo to get that good clean lather. Trying a new shampoo I didn’t want to overdo it so I did as the label says and only put a small amount into my hand. I was shocked to find that even just that small amount actually lathered and cleaned all of my hair! I didn’t even go back for more. Once dry, my hair not only smelled amazing but it was so very soft. The bottle runs about $22 for an 8.5 oz bottle but with as little as I have to use to lather up my long 2 weeks dirty hair, this bottle will last even me a long time.
The conditioner bar is a bit of a different story. I’d never seen a conditioner in bar form so I did a bit of research on the Lush website before I even attempted to use it. I started by getting the bar wet and lathering it up a bit in my hand. I then rubbed the bar on my wet hair massaging it through the ends. After washing it out, I was disappointed to find my hair didn’t feel any smoother. Honestly, I haven’t found a purple conditioner that really did it’s job and conditioned my hair so I’m not really blaming the bar. You can try Lush’s conditioner bars for yourself for around $13. Will I, personally, purchase another one once this one’s gone? Probably not.
There are still so many Lush products I want to try. Maybe one day soon I’ll head over there and purchase some for myself!
