October Ipsy Bag Review

This month’s Ipsy bag was a slam dunk in my eyes! I love and will use almost every single product I received and can’t wait to share my thoughts!

fileAssetFirst of all, the bag is adorable! It’s a beautiful burgundy lace with the cutest little plastic bat zipper! It’s the perfect size to throw jewelry in for travel or to keep personal products together and easily accessible in my car. This is probably my favorite bag design to date. It’s just beautiful and a wonderful mix of fall and halloween!
fileAsset-6I want to start off with my least favorite product from this months Ipsy bag and work my way up to my favorite! Taking up the rear is the BLAQ Peel Off Mask. You may have heard of this mask, so lovingly named the black mask of death. This plasticy peel off mask went viral with hilarious mask removal videos all over Facebook and YouTube. I’ve tried this mask in the past and my experience was no different than anyone else. It rips all of your peach fuzz off your face without even slightly cleaning out any of your pores. About 2 months ago I started shaving my face with Tinkle Razors so peach fuzz-less I decided to give the BLAQ mask one more go. It’s still extremely painful and still didn’t really help to clean out any of my pores! I’m not sure that I would recommend this product, but definitely will provide a good (and painful) laugh if you decide to give it a try.

fileAsset-5Next is the Marc Anthony Hydrating Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Oil Treatment. While I do like this product, hair oil just isn’t something I use on a regular basis therefore I wouldn’t ever purchase this product for myself. I do love the shine it brings to my hair and it smells amazing.

fileAsset-4Next up is MDMflow Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade Retro. I think the formula is great, but I’m not the biggest fan of the color. The almost neon coral pink isn’t the most flattering shade on my skin tone. It doesn’t 100% dry down to a matte which also means it’s not super drying like other mattes. It’s almost like a velvet matte which I enjoy. It’s also pretty long lasting which is always a plus. In another shade, I think I would really love this product.

fileAsset-2I don’t really wear eyeliner on a daily basis but when I do, I always reach for my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade Perversion. It glides on so smoothly and doesn’t smudge throughout the day! Perversion is also the perfect shade of black! This has been my go-to liner for quite some time now so I was super excited to get another one this month!

fileAsset-3Finally, my all time favorite product from this month’s Ipsy bag…Tarte’s Deluxe Lights Camera Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara! I have heard wonderful things about this mascara for months and was so excited when I found out it would be in this months bag. I go through mascara phases and have a few current favorites, but this one quickly rose to the top! So quickly that I purchased the full size today after using it for only a week! It beautifully separates my lashes while creating length and volume without clumping. It keeps my lashes looking beautiful and full all day and is easy to remove at the end of the night! I definitely recommend this mascara to anyone looking for a new one! I suspect it will be favorite for a long time!

Overall, I was very pleased with my October Ipsy bag. It’s probably my favorite bag to date, both style and products! I’ve gotten a lot of mixed reviews of Ipsy over the years and was hesitant to sign up, but am so glad I did. I’ve found so many new favorite products since joining and out of about 25 products received, I’ve only had a negative review on 3-5 products. To continue receiving things I love and enjoy, I make sure to review every product I receive and my bag as a whole. They really do try and keep it personalized and send you things they think you’d enjoy.
